Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 27 July 2026
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Smart Meter Australia website and your engagement of our services. By using this website or requesting a quote, you agree to these Terms.
1. About us
Smart Meter Australia provides electrical, Level 2 Accredited Service Provider (ASP) and metering-preparation services in Sydney and surrounding areas of New South Wales, including smart meter preparation, solar connections, three-phase upgrades, switchboard and defect rectification, and new connections. All electrical work is performed by licensed electricians in accordance with applicable Australian Standards and NSW network requirements.
2. Quotes and estimates
- Submitting the quote form is a request for a quote only and does not create a contract. No work is agreed until we confirm a quote and you accept it.
- Quotes are prepared based on the information and photos you provide. If the actual site conditions differ materially, the quote may need to be revised before or during the work.
- Unless stated otherwise, quotes are valid for 30 days and exclude work not expressly described in them.
3. Third parties we don't control
Electricity meter ownership, supply, appointment availability and final meter installation may be controlled by your energy retailer, metering provider or electricity distributor (such as Ausgrid, Endeavour Energy or Essential Energy). While we prepare your installation and can liaise with these parties, we are not responsible for their timeframes, decisions, fees or availability, and completion of their steps is outside our control.
4. Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate and complete information when requesting a quote;
- Provide safe and reasonable access to the work site at agreed times;
- Hold any consents required for the work (for example, owner or strata approval);
- Advise us of any known hazards or site conditions relevant to the work.
5. Payment
Prices, deposits and payment terms are set out in your quote or invoice. Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due on completion of the work. We may charge for variations you request or for additional work reasonably required to complete the job safely and to standard, agreed with you before it is carried out.
6. Cancellations and rescheduling
Please give us as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule. We may charge a reasonable call-out fee where access is not available at an agreed appointment time without prior notice.
7. Guarantees and warranties
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation. We stand behind our workmanship and will remedy defective workmanship in accordance with our obligations under the Australian Consumer Law.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, and subject to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for delays, decisions or omissions of your energy retailer, metering provider or electricity distributor. Where liability cannot be excluded but may be limited, our liability is limited to resupplying the relevant services or paying the cost of having them resupplied.
9. Website content
Content on this website is provided for general information only and is not a substitute for advice about your specific installation. We take care to keep the website accurate and up to date but do not warrant that it is error-free. All content, branding and imagery on this website is owned by or licensed to us and may not be reproduced without permission.
10. Privacy
Personal information you provide is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available on this website.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will be published on this page with a revised “last updated” date and applies to your use of the website from that date.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
