The Problem: A Notice That Threatens Disconnection
Defect notices are issued when the network or an authorised inspector finds something non-compliant or unsafe at your installation — deteriorated service cables, unsafe meter panels, exposed wiring, or non-compliant boards. The notice sets out the defect and a timeframe, and unresolved defects can ultimately lead to supply being disconnected.
The stressful part is that defects usually sit on the network side of the installation, where your regular electrician can’t work — so the notice sits in a drawer while the clock runs.
